What to Expect With CoolSculpting Fat Freezing

CoolSculpting enables you to lose that stubborn excess fat once and for all – without dieting or exercise! We know that may sound “too good to be true”. So in this article we explain the CoolSculpting process from “start to finish” so you understand exactly how this amazing fat-freezing technology can help you get the body you’ve always wanted.

1.)  Your CoolSculpting Consultation

The CoolSculpting process starts with a consultation in our Midtown Detroit office. We will take the time to discuss your body sculpting goals and expectations.

During your consultation we will assess your body from every angle, take measurements, and identify those “problem areas” where you would like to get rid of fat.

We’ll help you decide if he a single CoolSculpting session is enough for you – or if multiple treatments are recommended to achieve optimal fat loss in the areas you want. We will also patiently answer all of your CoolSculpting questions.

Once we understand your fat loss desires, we’ll create a customized treatment plan that is right for you … and your budget. Our office staff can also help you explore easy financing options, too. So you never have to wait to start on your fat loss journey.

 2.) Preparing for CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting is a non-surgical, non-invasive procedure – which means there isn’t much you need to do to prepare for your appointment! Just take a shower before you arrive, and be sure to avoid using creams, lotions or fragrance products on or near the areas to get CoolSculpting.

Patients can use their phone, read a book, or listen to music during CoolSculpting. So feel free to bring something to pass the time.

3.) The CoolSculpting Procedure

We’ll ensure that you’re in a comfortable and relaxed position on the table. Then a gel pad and applicator will be applied directly on the skin in the area where the fat will be “frozen.” Since CoolSculpting is non-invasive and there are no incisions, no anesthetic is needed.

CoolSculpting will feel quite chilly at first. However, the concentrated cold quickly acts to numb the area being treated and any discomfort quickly subsides.

As the CoolSculpting handheld applicator is applied to the fat, a mild vacuum technology draws the skin and fat into the applicator. So you may feel a small pulling, tugging, or pinching sensation. Our Detroit area patients describe the sensation as mildly uncomfortable, but not painful.

Your CoolSculpting appointment will only take about a half hour to an hour – depending on how many body areas are being treated, as well as how much fat needs to be frozen.

After CoolSculpting you can drive, return to work or even go to the gym! There is no “downtime” with CoolSculpting!

4.) Seeing Results after CoolSculpting

For a few days after the procedure, some patients experience temporary redness, swelling, or whiteness in the treated areas. A few people also report some mild bruising, tingling, or tenderness. These are perfectly normal and temporary side effects caused by the suction during CoolSculpting – and typically go away in a few days.

Your body will begin to naturally eliminate the frozen “dead” fat cells over time. Initial results can be seen in as little as two to three week. After three months the sculpting results should be quite visible. And by 5 to 6 months, all of the dead fat cells will have been removed to reveal the final results.

And, remember, once the fat cells have been eliminated they are gone for good and will never come back in that area!
